application process
I INTRODUCTION This application process thread has all the information and links you'll need for crafting your character. It is a mandatory reading for new members and encouraged to look back when making additional characters.
II INFORMATION Potluck is a sandbox roleplay heavily influenced by the Monster Hunter franchise, however, prior knowledge is not required to join the forum. All information needed to roleplay can be found here on the forum and vital information for character creation includes species, assets, lore and setting.
In the species thread you'll find information on Potlucks playable species which include humans, wyverians, lynians, and more. There are three factions that split into civilians, hunters, and monsters. Members are free to make characters into these three factions. Assets are a character's skills and inventory. They will include hunting armor and weapons which staff will appoint to hunters, items or places of any trade, developed skills, and more. Lore and setting helps to give you the member a better idea or the world along with figuring out your character's origin.
Other threads within the Guide Handbook has further information of Potlucks world and gameplay.
III APPLICATION Once you feel ready to start your character, a new account should be made for them. You're free to register them under any name but they must be later changed to your characters name in all caps (FIRST M. LAST example: JOHN Q. DOE). You also need to set an icon that should be no bigger or smaller than 200x300. This icon can not be an animated image.
Afterwards copy the application templates into a new thread and start filling your character's information in it. The thread name should be ORIGIN, First name, Middle initial, Last name (example: MAOH-MA, John, Q, Doe).
IV COMPLETION When your application is complete, there are a few more steps to be done before staff will look through it. You'll need to register your character's face claim then post a notification with a link to your application.
V PENDING AND APPROVAL After a notification is sent stating that your application is complete, staff will look through it and post either a stamp of approval or a pending notice. Once your application is approved you are free to post in character. If you're application received a pending notice, you've also received a private message in your character's account with concerns relating to the application. After the edits have been done, you can submit another notification that it is complete. There's no set limit to how many times you can reapply your application.
VI CHARACTER CORRECTION AND UPDATES As you progress with your character's story on site it's important to keep your character up to date. Whenever new abilities are gained with your new equipment, should be added in your character's assets. You're also free to go back and update your character's history with events from the site.
